Introduction to Catalyst 2960-Plus
The Catalyst 2960-Plus is a series of switches introduced by Cisco in 2005, which are now in End-of-Sale since October 2014 and End-of-Support since October 2019. However, they are still used in smaller businesses or lab environments. These switches are used for networking and come in various models with different release dates, end-of-sale dates, and end-of-support date.
The Catalyst 2960-Plus Series switches are part of the Cisco Catalyst 2960 family, which includes the Cisco Catalyst 2960-S and 2960 Series Switches. These switches are designed for entry-level enterprise, midmarket, and branch office networks and provide improved operational excellence, highly secure business operations, improved sustainability, and an enhanced workspace experience. They are fixed-configuration access switches with 24 and 48 ports of Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) 10/100/1000 desktop connectivity and 1 GbE Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) uplinks.
They also feature a USB storage interface for file backup, distribution, and simplified operations, enhanced troubleshooting for problem solving, including link connectivity and cable diagnostics, single IP address management for up to 16 switches, and a wide range of software features to provide ease of operation, secure business operations, sustainability, and borderless networking experience. They also come with a limited lifetime hardware warranty, including next-business-day replacement with 90-day service and support.
