Hyprland 0.54.1 Wayland Compositor Released With Stability Improvements

The Hyprland team has rolled out version 0.54.1, a maintenance update primarily aimed at improving reliability and fixing several bugs discovered in the previous release. This update addresses multiple stability concerns, including crashes linked to the master and scrolling layout systems, issues with mirrored display rendering, and situations where relayout events were not properly triggered. It also resolves uncommon crashes associated with screencopy operations and layout handling.
Several adjustments have been made to window layout behavior as well. The dwindle layout once again supports the splitratio configuration option, while the scrolling layout receives fixes for directional window movement and more consistent column width management. Other improvements focus on better geometry calculations, restoring fullscreen states correctly, and handling special cases involving maximized or tiled windows.
Window grouping behavior has also been refined. Floating windows can now be grouped automatically again, while modal windows are excluded from grouping. In addition, group movement has been improved so that window groups properly follow focus changes. Updates to workspace and monitor interactions ensure monitor bindings remain intact after reconnection events and that pinned window states refresh correctly when switching workspaces.
The compositor component has received several corrections as well. These include improved detection of focus edges and more reliable handling of monitor damage events when monitors or workspaces change status. Further adjustments to rendering paths and internal buffer management help prevent potential crashes.
Finally, updates were made to supporting tools. The hyprctl command-line utility fixes issues related to socket write buffer overflows and problems encountered when reloading dynamic workspace effects. Meanwhile, the Hyprpm package manager now properly cleans repository URLs when new sources are added.
