The Document Foundation has released LibreOffice 26.2.3, the third maintenance update in the 26.2 series that debuted in early February. It is now available for Windows, macOS, and Linux users.
This update delivers a range of fixes in Writer, particularly for DOCX compatibility. It resolves issues such as charts in footnotes becoming corrupted after saving, image sizes not being preserved when exporting ODT to DOCX, missing borders when reopening documents in Word, and certain files with content controls turning unreadable after being saved again.
Additional DOCX import problems have also been addressed. These include cases where table text shifted into reference fields or spilled into adjacent cells, as well as a formula error caused by an unescaped bracket during import.
Impress benefits from several fixes as well, especially for PPTX files. Problems with rotated text—such as z-rotated text disappearing or losing its rotation on import—have been corrected. The update also fixes an issue with older ODP files failing to open, resolves audio stream handling during PPTX export, and eliminates a bug that could cause excessive memory usage when printing presentation notes.
In Calc, the update fixes a crash triggered by using the lock feature in an AutoFilter with date values, improves performance when rejecting tracked changes, restores support for named ranges in older XLS files, and corrects how external references are handled when exporting from XLS to XLSX with conditional formatting. It also introduces the previously missing Saudi Riyal currency symbol.
Beyond application-specific fixes, LibreOffice 26.2.3 includes general improvements to Writer and the user interface. These address issues like incorrect initial word counts, crashes involving pinyin input during tracked changes, inconsistencies between document view and PDF output for vertical text, layout loops in complex table structures, and leftover lock files after repairing documents.
The update also refines various interface elements, including clearer indicators for substituted fonts, better alignment in color selection dropdowns, updated macro organizer buttons, and a fix for a crash when inserting hyperlinks with an empty clipboard.

The next maintenance release, version 26.2.4, is planned for early June. Support for the 26.2 series will continue until November 30, 2026, after which it will reach end of life.
