Fastfetch 2.60 System Information Tool Adds Moss Package Support

Fastfetch, a popular tool among Linux users for showcasing a sleek summary of system information right in the terminal, has just launched version 2.60.

This release adds support for detecting the Zed editor version. Fastfetch now identifies Zed installations and displays their version with other system details. The update also detects moss packages (used in AerynOS) on Linux systems.

Moreover, customization options have been expanded with a new {cwd} variable for custom title formatting. This allows Fastfetch to display the current working directory in its output.

Window manager detection also receives several updates. On Windows systems, Fastfetch can now detect the Komorebi, FancyWM, and GlazeWM window managers. Meanwhile, macOS users gain support for retrieving window manager plugin version information.

On Linux, Fastfetch now detects window managers more efficiently in LXQt environments. OpenBSD users benefit from new support for retrieving the executable path.

Fastfetch 2.60 also resolves several bugs and stability issues. The update fixes a potential segmentation fault from dereferencing a negative index, corrects temperature sensor parsing to accept only string values, and ensures accurate reporting of keyboard devices on Linux.

Several memory leaks have been addressed, including those related to DBus connection handling and the OpenGL EGL context lifecycle. The release also corrects version detection for the Niri window manager on Fedora and includes internal cleanups and optimizations.

Finally, the release updates and expands Fastfetch’s collection of distribution logos. New logos have been added for RengeOS and Emmabuntüs, and the Artix Linux and Linux Mint logos have been refreshed.
