Description
Microsoft Windows 10 is the latest version of the widely used operating system, developed by Microsoft. Launched on July 29, 2015, Windows 10 is designed to provide a versatile and user-friendly experience across a range of devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones. This iteration introduced several features and improvements, such as the Start menu’s return, the Microsoft Edge browser, Cortana (Microsoft’s virtual assistant), and the integration of the Windows Store for applications.
Windows 8, and subsequently Windows 8.1, marked a significant update for version 8. Despite facing challenges in gaining acceptance, particularly among longstanding Windows users, Windows 8.1 emerged as a crucial improvement. The decision to introduce Windows 8.1 at a slight remove from Windows 8 aimed to capture the attention of traditional Windows users who found it challenging to adapt to the new and distinct user interface of these Windows versions.
In response to this issue, Microsoft unveiled the updated operating system on either September 30, 2014, or September 8, 2014. Interestingly, while Windows 9 was initially envisioned as the next iteration, Microsoft ultimately introduced Windows 10. According to a Microsoft developer, this decision was influenced by the challenge many older software faced in distinguishing between Windows 9 and the earlier Windows 95 and 98 versions.
